The Mason Rodeo Association is excited about our new bucking chutes and roping chutes and renovations completed at the Ft. Mason Park Arena! Round-Up Weekend will be held July 12 and 13. The weekend will start with the County Team Roping at the Ft. Mason Park Arena sponsored by Karen and Dennis Townsend. BBQ will be on sale. For more information on the Team Roping, please call Dennis Townsend at 325-456-8635. The 4D Barrel Race will be the next event of the weekend and takes place on Friday evening. Books will open at 4:30 pm, exhibitions will run from 5:00 to 7:00 and the 8 and Under Class will begin at 7:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded to all participants in this class. Mason has some local talent who are not only cute as can be, but also pretty tough competitors. They are always fun to watch! The Open 4D Class will follow the little ones. For more information on the jackpot, please call Amanda McMillan at 325-347-2486. The Pizza Wagon will be on the grounds serving great pizza and bottles water.

Saturday morning slack will begin at 8:00 am and the Saturday night rodeo will kick off at 7:30 with the Grand Entry and posting of the colors, followed by the presentation of the Round-Up Queen’s Court. The Lester Meier Rodeo Company is planning an entertaining evening of bull riding, calf roping, open team roping, County team roping, barrel racing, mutton bustin’, calf scramble, breakaway roping and a super clown act. Concessions will be provided during the rodeo by the Mason Rodeo Association to raise funds for the arena renovations. For more information on the rodeo, please call Pam Armstrong at 325-218-2010.

Aaron Kothmann will kick off the dance at the Ft. Mason Park Slab at 9:00 pm. Check out his website at! The Pizza Wagon will be available for the hungry appetites during the dance.

The Association would like to thank all of their banner sponsors! If you haven’t had a chance to pay for your 2013 banner and would like it displayed during Round Up (and at and our Ranch Rodeo in the fall) please drop your $60 off to Amanda McMillan or Denise Blackwell at the Mason Bank. If you are a new business and would like a banner, please call Denise Blackwell ASAP at 347-3489 and she will be happy to order one for you.
