Riata Service Organization members are gearing up to celebrate the annual Mason County Round-up. Monaco Schmidt, sophomore and varsity cheerleader at Mason High School, will represent the group in the Round-up Queen’s Contest. Monaco is the daughter of Mona Lois and James Kelly Schmidt and is active in basketball, tennis, cross country and track. She participates in CX Debate and represents 4-H, exhibiting market lambs and goats. Monaco is a member of the FBC youth group and recently returned from a ten day mission trip to South Carolina. Look for her on the Riata float in the parade.
Also be sure to stop by the Riata Pie Booth on the courthouse lawn on Saturday for a piece of pie or a whole pie to feed family and friends here for the week-end. Riata will also be selling the newest cookbook to raise funds for the Heritage Park, Mason Community Kitchen, as well as other local civic endeavors. All funds raised by this organization are returned to the community.
