San Angelo Standard Times Agriculture Writer and former KLST Television personality Jerry Lackey will be at the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum on Saturday, July 13, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM signing copies of his two latest books, “Homestead: Pioneers of Texas Frontier”. The first was published in 2012 and the Volume II has just been released.
Both books will be available during the event and refreshments will also be served.
A new volume of stories about the ranches and ranchers of West Texas—taken from Lackey’s popular Homestead series which has been published in the San Angelo Standard-Times since 2006. These stories explore the triumphs and tragedies of hard-working people surviving and thriving in a harsh and rugged environment.
Reared in the Texas Hill Country, Jerry Lackey has spent more than 50 years as an agricultural journalist and farm broadcaster. He is the recipient of several awards and honors including the “Oscar in Agriculture Award,” “Excellence in Agricultural Journalism” and “Shepherd’s Voice Award.”
