Hill Country Cattle Women Scholarships

The Hill Country CattleWomen recently awarded its annual college scholarships to 13 deserving college students from the Hill Country.

With over $22,000.00 awarded, several counties in the HCCW's 14 county coverage area were represented. The recipients are as follows:

John "Trey" Brooks, Animal Science/Agriculture Economics Major - Llano, Llano County, Ashley Skeels, Agriculture Leadership & Development Major - Boerne, Kendall County, Erik Foster, Engineering Physics Major - Llano, Llano County, Kandace Davenport, Animal Science Major - Harper, Gillespie County, Jesse Ovard, Graphic Design Major, Harper - Gillespie County, Kirstie Heidle, Psychology/Sociology Major - Llano, Llano County, Courtney Hemphill, Animal Science Major - Lohn, McCulloch County, Elizabeth Klein, Agriculture Leadership/Education & Communication Major- Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Sarah Pape, Wildlife Management Major - San Antonio, Northern Bexar County, Steffanie Eckhardt, Agribusiness Major - Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Sarah Torzewski, Animal Science Major - Boerne, Kendall County, Jenny Smith, History/Education Major - Mason, Mason County, Chelsea Claflin, Management Major - Boerne, Northern Bexar County.

The HCCW scholarship is presented to college students with a minimum of 60 college hours, and a minimum of a 2.8 GPA. While applicants can have any major, the top two awards are given to agriculture or nutrition majors.
