U.M. Army Mission Trip
Wednesday, July 17, 2013 • Posted July 17, 2013

Eight youth and five adults took part in an amazing week of fellowship, worship, and working as the hands and feet of Christ in Canyon Lake, Texas June 23-29th.

U.M. Army, or United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth is in it’s 35th year of operation. Members of our group joined other high school students and leaders from Fredericksburg, Gonzales, Liberty Hill, and Pflugerville to tackle yard work, building ramps and porches, painting houses, cleaning houses, rebuilding a kitchen, and taking on many other tasks that members of the community of Canyon Lake needed help with.

We went as individuals, but returned as a family and in better relationship with God. We thank the members of the community of Mason and the First United Methodist Church who supported us financially and prayerfully to make this trip possible. It was an experience that changed each of us for the better and challenged us to continue using the gifts and talents God has given us, back at home in Mason.

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15.

Members of the mission trip from left to right: Bill Haley, Rick Ragsdale, Austin Habecker, Jackson Chapman, Evan Dayton, Kendra Klaerner, Caroline Hudson, Claudia Canfield, Deandra Palacio, Traci Jordan, Colleen Haley, Samantha Jordan, & Kim Jordan.
