Alvin Boyd Airheart

Alvin Boyd Airheart, passed from this life at age 66 to an eternal life with God and his beloved wife Clyrene Airheart and deceased parents Walter Chester and Ethel Isabelle Wickliffe Airheart on July 16, 2013, in the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Butch Airheart, brother and pastor in Brady Texas. Burial following in the Caveness Cemetery.

Boyd was born October 20, 1946, in Mason and was a long time resident of Mason. He served Mason residents and other counties with telephone service for 30 years. He served in the Army, in Vietnam Nov 9, 1967-Nov 7, 1969. Boyd was awarded for valor the National Defense Service Metal Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal, Vietnam Service Metal with 2 bronze Service Stars Bronze Star while holding Hamburger Hill with continuance shooting a 105 Howitzer for 36 days and nights. Boyd was a Sharpshooter (rifle) and received the Army Commendation Metal and was awarded an honorable discharge.

He was married to Clyrene Airheart of graham,TX, December 27, 1965, for 43 years. She passed from this life in 2009.

Survivors include his two sons: Steve Airheart, and wife Erica and Luke Airheart of Mason; four sisters, Virginia Brown, Christine Cortez, and Carolyn Copeland of Mason, and Tonie Jones of Chugiah, Alaska; two brothers, C.H. (Butch) of Brady, and Gordon of Mason; grandchildren, India, Rowan, Karma, Jade, Corben, and Julus.

Pall Bearers were Jackie and Chester Airheart of Brady; Luke Airheart, Adam Jeremy Cortez, and Pete Airheart of Mason; Honorary Pall Bearers and friend Mike Shanley and long-time friend and fellow Vietnam buddy Dewie Keith.
