James McMurtry at the Odeon Theater in Mason
Wednesday, August 7, 2013 • Posted August 7, 2013

Grammy nominee James McMurtry brings his music and lyrics to the Odeon theater for one night, Saturday, August 17 at 7:00PM. His album Childish Things and “We Can’t Make it Here” won the Americana Music Awards for Album and Song of the Year, respectively. Author Stephen King says of McMurtry that he “may be the truest, fiercest songwriter of his generation...”

And, while McMurtry is best known for his powerful, yet poetic lyrics what gets overlooked is that he’s an accomplished rock guitar player. When asked by CNN if he thought his famous father, Larry McMurtry, author of Lonesome Dove, was a fan James says “yeah, I think so...He seems to be...he doesn’t write verse and I don’t write prose so we kind of stay away from each other’s realms.”

Never one to rest on his laurels, James McMurtry continues to tour constantly across the U.S. and Europe, and consistently puts on a “must see” power house performance. A sell out is expected. So, make reservations now for this concert by calling Dennis or K Evans at 325 347 6781 or on line with PAYPAL at .

Reservations are $20 per person and are not confirmed until payment is received.
