Throwing Paint
Wednesday, August 21, 2013 • Posted August 21, 2013

Dennis and Kay Evans had four of their grandkids at their house this past week.

Last Thursday Asa, Aeron, Carter and Campbell came to The Painted Tree Studio and their request was to splatter paint. Local artist Bridget Langdale talked briefly about famous artist Jackson Pollack and his work. What made his paintings good and not just look like an accident? We especially looked at his work titled “#19” which recently sold for $35 million. These ideas were first practiced by flinging, throwing, drooling, and spraying water on cardboard. And then the fun began.

Each artist created several pieces of work in which they were quite pleased. Although there was a lot of paint put on the paper with careful aim, there was still a lot of paint covering the artist. Fun was had by all with great results!
