Mason Garden Club News

The Mason Garden Club met on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Mason Library Stribling Room. This was the annual membership drive and installation of the new officers for 2013-2014.

New and returning officers are: Joan Lindley, President; Lynn Hedges, Vice President; Mary Eckert, Secretary; Sara Banta, Treasurer; and Sherie Clarkson, Parliamentarian. Planned programs for 2013-2014 were presented to the members. Bill Luedecke will be our speaker at our September 17th meeting and there will be other interesting and informative speakers and programs for the year.Volunteers continue with the watering and care of the planted beds at the library.

For Old Yeller Days, the club will be selling plants, gardening items and soaps. Members who have been involved in making soap will be available to answer questions about soap making.

There will be information available on plants used during the time period of the Old Yeller book. Old Yeller Days is an educational celebration of the frontier times in Mason County during the 1870’s. It will be held on September 28th on the court house lawn from 10-2pm at the same time as the Lion Club 5K race and the Ministerial Alliance Fall Festival.
