The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, August 27th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 36 members and one visitor in attendance.

Lion Ken Cordero was responsible for the program and talked about swimming pool maintenance.

Ken has been involved in the swimming pool maintenance business for 48 years. He worked most of those years in California; but, we are privileged to have him here in Mason for the last several years.

Ken talked about the chemicals used and how and when to use them. He said there are several chemicals that do the same things; but, some are not to be used together since they can cause a volatile reaction. Ken told about the ones he uses and why he chose these over the others. Ken continues to take care of several pools in Mason and surrounding counties.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, September 3rd, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
