The regular meeting of the Mason Garden Club will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, Stribling Room.
The speaker will be Bill Luedecke of Marble Falls, master gardener and well-known garden writer and speaker. His program will be “Organic Gardening from the Ground Up.”
This is the first meeting of the new garden club year and is open to the public. So, if you wanted to learn what garden club is about and hear a good speaker, come and visit.
The Mason Garden Club will be having a booth at the Old Yeller Days celebration on Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The club will have plants, soaps and many other gardening items for sale. Several of the members who make the soap will be available to answer questions about soap making.
There will also be an educational display on the plants and their uses that were grown during the 1870s which was the time period that the book “Old Yeller” was set. This is a fund-raiser for the club and proceeds are used to buy plants for the library flowerbeds which the club maintains.
