Deloris Mae Wilson

Deloris Mae Wilson went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 3, 2013, in Fredericksburg, Texas, where she was staying.

Deloris was recently a long-term resident of Cedar Creek, Texas. She settled in Austin, Texas in the fifties until the eighties to raise her family. She served her husband and country by moving to several locations in the US and one overseas deployment.

Deloris was born in Derby, Indiana, September 20, 1930, to Emory Earl Schaad and Lessie May Ramsey Schaad who preceded her journey home.

Deloris was a devoted wife, loving mother and professional woman. She loved and worked diligently to serve her husband, family, church and community. In addition to many other places, her love showed in great meals, pies, fudge, jellies and jams. She faithfully attended church at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center and served as greeter or any other role as need. She also attended South Austin Church of the Nazarene where she served as treasurer for twenty years She served as a Bastrop ISD reading volunteer. Her gentle strong spirit guided her efforts of faith, family, and community. She attended South Austin Church of the Nazarene and Bastrop Christian Outreach Center.

She retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Prior to that, she held other professional positions with the State of Texas and other governmental agencies. She was dedicated to learning and educational pursuits. She obtained a degree from Austin Community College and attended several other colleges over her life.

Deloris is following her beloved husband Samuel ‘Jack’ Jackson Wilson to God’s celestial home. Her sisters Melba Simpson and Iris Leimgruber and brothers Delbert Schaad, James Schaad also preceded her in going home. She is survived by her siblings Rose Anna Leoni and husband Ron of Austin, Texas; Charles Schaad and wife Cora of Booneville, Indiana; Joe Schaad of Tell City, Indiana; and Johnny Schaad of Tell City, Indiana. Her children Kathryn Jordan and husband Wayne of Mason, Texas; Samuel Wilson of Bastrop, Texas; Robert Wilson and wife Jean of Austin, Texas; and Bryan Wilson and wife Holly Ruth of Burnet, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., September 6, 2013 at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, Texas. Services were at 10:00 A.M., September 7, 2013, at South Austin Church of the Nazarene, 6711 Manchaca Rd in Austin, TX 78745 followed by interment at Forest Oaks Cemetery, 6300 West William Cannon Drive in Austin.
