Mason Community Foundation Awards Old Yeller Day Committee With Grant
Wednesday, September 25, 2013 • Posted September 25, 2013

The Mason Community Foundation awarded a grant to the Old Yeller Day Committee, which is a committee of the Mason County Library. The grant will go toward the expenses of producing Old Yeller Day, which is coming up on Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the Court House lawn. The day is organized to celebrate Mason’s own author, Fred Gipson, and is named for his most celebrated book, Old Yeller. The festivities this year include re-enactors portraying the lives of people in frontier Mason County, the time period and setting of the Old Yeller series. Shown above are, front, left to right: Rosemary Davis and Whitney Bownds. Back: Denise Brandenberger and Jean Dudney.
