Old Yeller Day Dog Parade
Wednesday, September 25, 2013 • Posted September 26, 2013

Please join The Friends of the Library for the Annual Old Yeller Day Dog Parade on September 28th! It’s a chance for your precious pooch to come out and strut his/her stuff – and the dogs don’t have to be “yeller”! Fabulous prizes will be awarded after the parade to the winners in these categories:

1) Old Yeller Look-Alike,

2) Best (most original) Costume,

3) Owner-Dog Look-Alike, and

4) Best Trick.

Three impartial judges will award a gift certificate for a year’s supply of dog food, donated by Rich Zanetti, area representative for Nutro Pet Foods, as the grand prize in each category. In addition, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, generously donated by Reigning Cats and Dogs. You may enter as many categories as you and your dog would like.

Another category, this one for humans only, is the: Travis Look-Alike Contest. A kid-pleasing prize will be given to the child dressed to most closely resemble Travis, Old Yeller’s best buddy in the story.

Registration begins promptly at 10:00 A.M. on the south side of the Courthouse. The parade will begin at 10:30 and will march around the Courthouse, led by our own Puncher Pete! All dogs must be on a leash or be carried by their owners.

See you at the Courthouse Square on September 28!
