Bat Cave Report
2013 Texas Nature Conservancy Steward
Wednesday, October 9, 2013 • Posted October 9, 2013

Hello, my name is Vicki Ritter, and I have been the 2013 Eckert James River Bat Cave steward. Yes, it is over for this year.

I want to thank all of you for your support and appreciation for this wonderful eight acres of memories. Gerry and Dozer have helped get the word out about the bats through this column in the Mason County News to readers all over. I have had persons from many states come to The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve. They let me know that they read my column online.

Jana Ritter is my daughter. She is also a tremendous help with all of the work that is done throughout the season. She not only clears brush, moves rocks, moves the brush to the chipper shredding piles, but she also chipper shreds it and helps me spread it on the trails.

To get to the point of it all, I say THANK YOU ALL for everything that you do to make this the greatest place on earth. I look forward to next season. See ya at the cave!!
