Mason High School Class of '49 Reunion
Wednesday, October 9, 2013 • Posted October 9, 2013

The Mason High Class of ’49 celebrated their 64th Class Reunion on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

The Reunion was held at the Historic Peter’s Prairie School House where two members started 1st grade many years ago. Five members started 1st grade at Mason Grammer School and were classmates until after graduation.

A delicious barbeque meal was served by Wayne Carl & Tana Hofmann to the group.

Doris Wall Phillips, our business teacher, attended the Reunion. This was her first teaching job after graduating.

During the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a Kaffee Klatch and much reminiscing about antics, school punishment at that time, other school activities, and activities since graduating. Many classmates started school in one or three room country schools. Some rode horses to school in the country and one rode a Shetland to the Grammer School in Mason. There were 28 attending with 15 of these classmates. It was decided to have a reunion each year with our next to be our 65th reunion. It was a beautiful cool day in a country setting reminding us all of our “fun days” when we were growing up in a much simplier time.
