6th Annual Hext VFD Fundraiser Saturday
Wednesday, October 23, 2013 • Posted October 23, 2013

The Hext Volunteer Fire Department is holding their 6th annual fish fry, raffle and silent auction fundraiser on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Hext Community Center (the old school house next to the Fire Station on Highway 29). Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m., the raffle drawings will start.

We have "The Judge" pistol, Mossberg 715T AR 15 style .22 rifle, Model 770 rifle, 270 with stainless steel barrel, synthetic stock and 3x9 scope, tools, baskets, gift certificates and much more.

This is our only fundraiser to cover expenses for the fire department for the upcoming year as we do not receive funds from any town or county. Due to the support of the businesses in the surrounding communities, land owners and diligent work of the members, we have been able to secure two good brush trucks and a 900 gallon service truck.

This year, our objective is to get grants and donations to build the new fire station on land we purchased in Hext. A fund has been set up at the First State Bank in Menard for the building fund.
