The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, October 15th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. Among the visitors were two Mason High School seniors, Hector Medina and Marcus Martinez.

Lion Kirby Groves was responsible for the program and introduced Mason I.S.D. coach, Coby Owens, who spoke about his career in coaching over the past 19 years.

He shared his love of teaching and coaching kids; and, his excitement to be in Mason. Though he wasn't raised her, he's been coming to Mason all his life to visit his grandmother, the late Ruth Dannheim.

He was complimentary of the students and the community of Mason where standards remain high.

He discussed the football team and preparations to play Ozona at hime this Friday night.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 22nd, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
