There is confusion and concern in my head. Watching politics since the last election cycle, I’ve witnessed historic, dangerous behaviors. It appears some Americans want to kill our country.

I am a child of the John Birch Society. Raised in the conservative, far right. Hand over the heart, pledge allegiance to the country and protect the Constitution. I have lived conservatism. However, I had many questions about the path the John Birch Society took and how they came to their conclusions. In high school, my teachers taught me how to research and find the truth of an issue. Now I’m a middle of the road pragmatist, with emphasis on helping each other survive the difficulties life throws at us.

During the last election cycle, conservative Republicans campaigned that they would shut down the government, and the people clapped. A couple of weeks ago, 80 House conservatives sent a letter to Speaker Boehner demanding they shut down the government, and then they did it. Conservative citizens cheered them on. They demanded defunding the Affordable Healthcare Law, which had gone through our legal process, and damn how the Constitution prescribes laws be made. House conservatives refused to pass a budget and open the government, and used Obamacare as the excuse. From the middle, this looks like deliberate anarchy. It looks like the real issue is not Obamacare, but to destroy America.

Are conservatives really anarchists? Is this a civil war? It’s amazing that conservatives shut down our government without a single gun pulled. It looks very deliberate. It looks very planned. It looks like domestic terrorism. The Civil War did not end well for either side. Millions were killed, and our country almost destroyed. It took generations to recover. Do the conservatives really want to go there? Do You really think this is a wise path? All because 15% of the population wants insurance for their pre-existing conditions? Is stomping all over the Constitution really what conservatives plan, even though they claim to love the Constitution and our country? If you are not happy with our country, then vote. Don’t just destroy the whole damn thing.
