Wood & Wire Bluegrass at the Odeon
Wednesday, October 30, 2013 • Posted November 3, 2013

Wood & Wire, one of the best bluegrass bands in Texas, will bring their foot stompin’ music to the Odeon theater Saturday November 16 at 7:00PM. Tickets for the show are $20 per person. Advance reservations are recommended.

Anyone wondering about Wood & Wire’s sound need not look any further than the four-piece bands name, which honors the purity of acoustic instruments and the gorgeous music a skilled artist can coax out of just simple wood and wire. Wood & Wire features Matt Slusher on mandolin, Tony Kamel on guitar, Dom Fisher on bass and Trevor Smith on banjo.

Producing their first album in Nashville, Wood & Wire cut fourteen stellar, original songs which delivers what Smith describes as “a modern take on traditional mountain, hillbilly, and country music” and Slusher terms “Dirty Texas Grass.” Tight, three-part harmonies, sprightly mandolin, and rolling banjo keep the band’s sound grassy while occasional contemporary flourishes speak to the group’s diverse backgrounds and far-flung musical influences.

Wood & Wire will bring their fabulous musicianship and their joyous energy to the Odeon stage and will have you standing on your feet. A show for all ages, reservations may be safely made on line at WWW.THEODEONTHEATER.COM or by calling Dennis or Kay Evans at 325 347 6781 and sending a check to Concert P.O. BOX 1599 Mason, TX 76856. Reservations are not confirmed until payment is received.
