Cowgirls Head to Regional Cross Country Meet

The 2013 Cowgirl and Puncher cross country teams competed at the District 29-A Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 23rd.

The Punchers competed hard, however, came up a little short placing 16th, 24th, and 39th. Their times are as follows:

Evan Dayton (16th)-20:49

Spencer Bierschwale (24th)-21:19

Pascual Callejas (39th)-23:19

The Cowgirls went in to District hoping for some revenge after falling short of the regional meet last year behind two of the teams who eventually went on to state. The Cowgirls knew their times at previous meets gave them a great opportunity to advance. The Cowgirls placed 3rd as a team behind Bracketville by 2 points and Harper by 10 points. They will compete at the Region IV Cross Country Meet in San Antonio at the National Shooting Complex this Saturday, November 2nd.

The Cowgirls also had one individual, Angelica Ramirez, qualify as an individual to the regional meet. The qualifiers times and places are listed below:

Angelica Ramirez (4th)-13:08

Kayla Guice (12th)-13:41

Kelly Kothmann (13th)-13:46

Khrista Morquecho (16th)- 13:55

Maddie Anderson (17th)-14:04

Katie Smith (23rd)-14:19

Paris Jones (29th)-14:59

The junior varsity Cowgirls competed extremely well winning the junior varsity division. The top 8 runners for the junior varsity are as follows:

Kayla Harwell (3rd)- 14:53

Catelyn Felts (4th)-15:08

Justin Tedder (5th)-15:15

Kirsten Allen (7th)-15:50

Lydia Bierschwale (9th)-16:03

Katie Armstrong (11th)-16:04

Madelyn Glentz (16th)-16:31

Staci Habecker (20th)-16:49
