Scarlet Punchers Give Thanks
Wednesday, November 6, 2013 • Posted November 7, 2013

Mason’s Scarlet Punchers, those daring, age- and law-defying women of maturity (we hope!) are gathering to give thanks for many things on Monday, November 11th, at 11:30 AM, at the home of Sherry Martin.

First, we’re giving thanks that we actually made it to our “certain age,” as we’d rather be seen than viewed. Second, we’re thankful that Sherry is opening her house to us for a pot luck luncheon, to be followed by some mildly amusing entertainment, and possibly even our famous word-search game. Third, we’re thankful that we’re actually invited to people’s houses, instead of hearing a tirade that ends with “and don’t come back.” (Ask me how I know about that kind of tirade, and I’ll tell you some of my work history with the State of Texas in the ’80s). And fourth, we’re thankful for good friends and something fun to do that doesn’t involve “good deeds”, and that these good friends can REALLY cook!

Although I had to leave early last month, I heard the party lasted so long people were thinking about staying for supper, and we definitely had enough food left over to make that happen. Last but not least, as cannot be mentioned too often, WE HAVE PRIZES!

So put on your crimson (not red) hats and violet (not purple) outfits, grab a friend, and get “out and about” in beautiful Mason county for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of food, laughter, and “sisterhood.” For directions please call Sherry at (325) 347-6264, Lynn Hedges at 347-7407, Mary Carlmann at 347-9605, or Lenore Newsom at 347-2766. We can meet at the Methodist Church parking lot (across the street from the church) at 11:00 AM to carpool. Scarlet Punchers forever!
