C’mon everybody!

Here we go!

(To quote Peter Pan on the Disneyland ride.)

We can yell it out here too.

Up, up, and away…

And down the slippery slope we go.

Towards the holidays.

And the end of the year.

And beginning of a new one.

No turning back.

No getting out of it.

Thanksgiving’s halfway here.

And Christmas is on the horizon.

Chomping at the bit.

Decorations appear daily.

Catalogs clog the post office box daily.

Enough have arrived to build a small room.

Or deer blind.

Speaking of which, the deer are here.

Especially at night.

On the road.

Honking the horn works wonders.

Hunters are here too.

It’s that time of year.

Backstrap and venison chili.

Cold fronts and first hard freeze.

Leaves turning.

Leaves falling.

It’s Fall out there.

It’s all out there.

Foggy molecules of dawn.

Smoky hazy dusk.

Shop lights twinkling.

Stars sharpening the sky.

The moon.

A low sliver.

Time for flannel sheets.

Jackets and sweaters.

Football games.

Dates and parties.

Hot chocolate.

Buttered popcorn.

Shopping.

Baking.

Partaking.

Wood fires.

Burn piles.

Prune and plow.

Plant winter rye.

Holiday cheer.

It’s all here.

That’s Mason.
