Mason Study Club's Chili-On-The-Square - A Success
Wednesday, November 20, 2013 • Posted November 21, 2013

Once again the amazing people of Mason turned out to support the Mason Study Club’s Chili on the Square. It was such a successful event that the Club sold out of chili by 12:30 last Friday, November 15th. The weather was picture-perfect and people enjoyed eating their chili under the trees on the Courthouse square as seen in the background of this picture. In the forefront, Carol Sattler, Karen Olson, Pam Scott, Nan Larrimore, Judy Branch, and Trudy Irwin get the serving line in order.

The Mason Study Club wants to thank the businesses who allowed signs in the windows, sandwich boards on their sidewalks, and the City for allowing sandwich boards by the street. Also, a thank you to Joyce Arnold for the loan of the very heavy sandwich boards.

The Study Club would be remiss if a special thank you wasn’t given to Mary Carlman, Jean Dudney, and Judy Branch for their organizing this event. Also, many thanks to the Club members, too many to list here, for cooking chili, cookies, brownies, serving chili, bagging fritos, setting up tables, putting down tables, and offering hands where needed, and a thank you to Lynn Hedges for “taking one for the team”. She was stung by a bee.
