The Mason Garden Club met November 19th at the Mason County Library. The guest speaker was Dewey Eckert, a Mason Native, who spoke on “Growing and Saving Wildflower Seeds”.

Dewey and his wife, Mary, have grown wildflower seeds commercially for years. Mary is also a member of the Mason Garden Club. Dewey gave an interesting program about the planting, growing process, and harvesting of the wildflower seeds. To show the small size of many of the seeds, he let us examine the seeds. Packets of wildflower seeds were given to each member to plant in their gardens.

Linda Laury spoke about the plans to have a Community Garden in Mason. Plans are being made to have a Christmas Party with a gift seed exchange for the December meeting.
