MASON, TX – “The Voice Morning Show” takes to radio airwaves “live” from Mason, Texas, on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Lone Star 102.5 FM. Co-hosted by Charley Jordan III and William Derrick and produced by Rebecca Dodson, the weekday-morning show serves listeners an array of conversation topics with a focus to entertain, inform and engage the Texas Hill Country communities.
Lone Star 102.5 / KHLB FM Radio station owners, Charley Jordan III and Tim Walker, established III & W Broadcasting LLC so to resurrect the only radio station in Mason, where the two feel they can bring relative, informative and entertaining radio back to communities throughout the Texas Hill Country. Lone Star 102.5 is a community-centered radio station that seeks to provide steadfast visibility and support as it contributes to the economic and cultural enrichment of the Texas Hill Country by offering dynamic, local news programming and contemporary country-music entertainment.
“The Voice Morning Show” is the dream of Jordan, known as “Uncle Charley” from past on-air exposure, who said he is excited for the opportunity to make his voice heard on the radio again. Jordan will kick-off the show solo from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. with news, weather, sports, and community information for the early-rising listeners. The first hour will include special segments such as the “5-Spot,” open to local service providers to list their services for only $5.00, and a dedication honoring obituaries called “A Time to Remember.”
Derrick will join Jordan in the studio from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. providing further weather, news, and sports updates, while also spotlighting advertisers and community events. Additionally, these two hours will feature in-studio visits and conversations with community and organization leaders, call-in contests and giveaways, and public opportunities to voice opinions and ideas.To immediately follow The Voice Morning Show will be the premier and hallmark one-hour segment “Charley’s List,” of which Jordan will continue to host and invite listeners to call in with items to buy, trade, sell or find.
Jordan said the goal of the program is to inform, entertain and foster good will. He wants to be a part of the community’s progress and future prosperity and wants to get people thinking, feeling and talking. Show producer, Rebecca Dodson, is anxious to hear from groups and organizations about their upcoming events. She is also looking for local experts to develop segments on local ranching, gardening, health and fitness, cultural events that affect the daily lives of people living in and around the Texas Hill Country.
