Thank goodness.

Thank heavens.

Thanks be to God.

Thankful.

Gracias.

Muchas gracias.

Thanks a lot.

Thank you.

Thanks.

And then there’s Thanksgiving.

The Big T.

All encompassing.

Giving thanks.

Gratitude.

For so much.

Freedom.

Life.

Liberty.

And the pursuit of happiness.

Health and wealth.

The roof over our heads.

The shirt on our backs.

Sharing.

Abundance.

Survival.

Peace on earth.

Goodwill towards others.

Family and friends.

Neighbors and peers.

Total strangers.

Give and ye shall receive.

Thankfulness.

For the small things.

A good laugh.

A strong hug.

Home-cooked meal.

Hot water.

(Nothing beats it for dirty dishes.)

Traditions prevail.

Turkey and dressing.

TV and football.

An afternoon nap.

Walk the dog.

Visits and phone calls.

Pumpkin pie.

(A second piece.)

The leaves turn.

Crape myrtles and post oaks.

Photinia, too.

The cornucopia of life overfloweth.

And we are full up.

Thank ya, thank ya.

That’s Mason.

Renee Walker is a poet, author, and real estate broker on the square with her canine assistant, Buster.
