The Hill Country Alliance Presents a Screening of: The City Dark “a search for night on a planet that never sleeps” with Guest Speaker: Astronomer Bill Wren from the McDonald Observatory and Star Gazing with the Hill Country Astronomers.

THE CITY DARK chronicles the disappearance of darkness. The film follows filmmaker and amateur astronomer Ian Cheney, who discovers an urban sky almost completely devoid of stars. Posing a deceptively simple question—“What do we lose, when we lose the night?”—the film leads viewers on a quest to understand how light pollution affects people and the planet.

THE CITY DARK shines new light on the meaning of the dark.

Bill Wren has been leading conversation all over the hill country about simple, easy to implement techniques for reducing sky glow and protect Texas night skies.
