The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, January 14th, for the regular monthly meeting. There were 36 members in attendance.

Lion Joel Kuykendall was responsible for the program and introduced past District Governor, Melvin Felch, who spoke about the Texas Lions Foundation.

The Lions Foundation is set up to use the interest funds from the foundation to promote any charitable activities sponsored by the Lions of Texas, and to help defray the costs of any natural disaster. Texas Lions have a history of helping Texans, and this is what the Texas Lions Foundation does.

Don't forget the Pancake Supper on Tuesday, January 28th at the High School Commons area starting about 5:00 p.m. The Lions Club plans to use the money from the Pancake Supper to fund two $500 scholarships for two graduating Mason County seniors, so the more pancakes we sell, the closer we come to our goal.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, January 22st, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Bruce Lehmberg.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
