Spanish to English Classes Begin for the Spring Semester
Wednesday, January 29, 2014 • Posted February 1, 2014

One year ago the Friends of the Library began partnering with the Mason Library to offer Spanish-to-English classes for adults who want to learn to speak English. Since then over 25 Spanish-speaking adults and 20 volunteers have participated in this program. This is remarkable given the size of our community.

Classes are free, groups are small and students can progress at their own rate. Babysitting is also provided at no cost. Students can join the class at any time.

Classes will begin on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. They are held in the Stribling Room of the Mason Library. The spring semester is 12 weeks long with a no classes during Holy Week.

Please talk with anyone you know who might be interested in learning English as “word of mouth” has been the most effective way of letting people know about the classes.

Anyone who is interested in participating as a student or a volunteer is encouraged to come. Call Nanci Gibbons at 210-240-4299 or email her at ngibbons@bcfs.net if you have questions or want to help.
