A Health and Wellness Program Offered by the Wesley Nurse Health Ministries™
The Wesley Nurse at First United Methodist Church invites you to take part in an Alzheimer’s disease and dementia support group open to all citizens in the Mason area. The purpose of this support group is to provide an open forum wherein caregivers and those afflicted with either Alzheimer’s or dementia or any other illness which has placed immense responsibility on the family/caregivers to meet their medical needs at home can come to openly and freely discuss their challenges and/or obstacles within a nonjudgmental environment. Within our support group, it is our hope to provide education, resources and feedback. You are not alone, we as a community are here to wrap our arms around you and provide you with as much loving support as we can possibly provide! Participants are welcome to bring someone with them so they do not have to come alone.
The leader for this group is Kathryn Tesch, RN. She works with Odyssey Hospice as the Specialist for Mason County. Odyssey Hospice has a Memory Care Program which is designed to meet the needs of patients and families afflicted with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
The program will meet the second Wednesday of each month from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Methodist Church, 224 Broad St. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch; beverages and dessert will be provided. For further questions or information, please call Ann Scarth, RN at 325-347-5983.
