We see you’re following January’s lead.
Two words that sound good on a hot Summer day.
‘Tis Winter instead.
And all of you is it.
Not just part of you, like December.
Start to finish.
Through and through.
And Winter it has been.
And then 80 degrees.
Nature’s gone schizophrenic on us.
Bluebonnets don’t know whether to live or die.
They show their leaves.
Then get frosted.
The sun comes out.
The iceman cometh.
Yet everything is dry.
So dry…jackrabbits are carrying bottled water.
So dry…three West Texas mayors decided to take the water into their own hands, so to speak.
They’re gonna round up water for their cities if it’s the last thing they do.
You reckon they got Mason County on their radar?
Or rain dancing in their repertoire?
Allow us to suggest rain gutters.
And rainwater collection systems.
Forget trying to get water from other towns.
Collect it when it falls.
And distribute locally.
You’ll be surprised.
A little goes a long way.
