Betty Kelso, of Mason, passed away on Friday, February 7, at the age of 86.

Betty is survived by several cousins including Helen Norman of San Angelo, Gayle Horne of Georgetown, James Herron of Lampasas, Kay Cunningham of Mason, Wayne Parker of Kerrville, Jan Burkes of Austin, Laura Van Cleave, Duane Herron of Brownwood an uncle Burleson Herron of Carbon along with her Church family at Mason Church of Christ, her former co-workers and friends at Mason Bank and her many friends in Mason.

Funeral services for Betty Kelso were held on Sunday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 at Mason Funeral Home.

Betty was born on March 15, 1927, in Brady, to William Dee Kelso and Ruth Evelyn Herron Kelso. She moved to Mason when she was 7 years old. Betty started working at Mason National Bank (Mason Bank) in 1949, retired in 1989 and then returned to the bank and retired for good on December 31, 2004 for a total of 55 years at the bank. She was a member of the Mason Church of Christ and a devoted care giver to her sister Ramona. Betty loved flowers and working in the yard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ramona.
