Sierra Martin Wins at San Antonio Stock Show

San Antonio – The Supreme Champion Market Steer Drive was held February 21st at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. Over the course of 3 days over 1,419 steers were exhibited and narrowed down to fifteen Breed Champions and fifteen Reserve Breed Champions. Each exhibitor in the Grand Drive received a $10,000 scholarship.

Sierra Jade Martin of Mason, Texas, was Reserve Champion Charolais with her steer “The Great Bambino.” Martin is a member of the Mason County 4-H club. She enjoys showing livestock- steers, sheep, goats and hogs. Her future plans include attending Texas A&M.

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is “A volunteer organization that emphasizes agriculture and education to develop the youth of Texas.” In pursuit of its mission, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has committed more than $134.6 million to youth education since 1984 and $11.1 million in 2013.
