The Heart of Texas Country Music Association will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on March 21-29, in Brady.
The Association grew from KNEL’s Hillbilly Hits Radio show in Brady, to encompass an over 1,000 member organization, the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum, Heart of Texas Records, the Heart of Texas Recording Studio plus regular performances staged in Brady, Llano, Seguin, Mason and Marble Falls throughout the years.
The festivities will include a Welcome Party and Dance on the Friday nights, an afternoon Matinee Concert at 2:00 PM on the Saturdays followed by a Dance on Saturday nights at the Brady Civic Center, Sunday night dance on March 23, Justin Trevino’s Two Step Tuesday at the Heart of Texas Events Center on March 25, Thursday night dance on March 27 and the Darrell McCall and Friends Golf Tournament on Friday, March 28.
Tickets are on sale at the Heart of Texas Records office at 1701 South Bridge in Brady or can be charged by calling (325) 597-1895. Advance tickets are strongly suggested due to the limited space at the Ed Davenport Civic Center. Only 3,300 tickets will be sold for the festivities.
The entertainment this year will be full of Traditional Country Music legends including Johnny Lee, T. Graham Brown, Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall, Bobby Flores, Amber Digby, Jan Howard, Norma Jean, Mona McCall, Bobby G. Rice, Dottsy, Justin Trevino, Tony Booth, Tommy Hooker, Curtis Potter, Frankie Miller, Diane McCall, Bobby Lewis, Landon Dodd, Kimberly Murray, Rance Norton, Kaye Tolson and Billy Mata.
The Welcome Party and Dance on Friday night, March 21, will feature Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band with Darrell McCall, Curtis Potter and Tony Booth. The events on Saturday, March 22, will feature Johnny Lee, Darrell McCall, Amber Digby, Curtis Potter, Norma Jean, Tony Booth, Landon Dodd, Kimberly Murray, Bobby Lewis, Diane McCall, Justin Trevino and Mona McCall. Billy Mata and Texas Tradition will headline the Sunday, March 23 dance. Justin Trevino will host Two Step Tuesday at the Heart of Texas Events Center on March 25.
Landon Dodd and the Dance Hall Drifters and Tommy Hooker will headline the Thursday, March 27 dance. The dance on Friday, March 28, will feature the Justin Trevino band with Johnny Bush, Georgette Jones and Amber Digby. The dances will be from 8:00 PM until Midnight and is BYOB.
The Saturday events on March 29, will feature T. Graham Brown, Darrell McCall, Amber Digby, Norma Jean, Dottsy, Rance Norton, Jan Howard, Kaye Tolson, Frankie Miller, Tony Booth, Curtis Potter and Bobby G. Rice.
Admission to the concerts are $20.00 per person. The concerts will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM. The Friday and Saturday night dances are already sold out.
“We are excited about celebrating our 25th Anniversary,” Tracy Pitcox said. “Our organization grew from a small core of listeners to over a 1,000 member organization that promotes Traditional Country Music throughout our state. With the addition of the internet, our base has grown substantially. This year, we have fans traveling from as far as Ireland, England, Scotland, Canada, Brazil and Germany to attend the events.”
