JH Girls Track Results

Our 7th & 8th grade Mason Cowgirl track teams competed in the Junction Middle School Track Meet on Thursday, Feb. 27th. Each one of our girls competed with heart and represented our team well. There were no team point totals kept or official times/heights/distances, but our athletes were awarded ribbons for their placings in events/heats. We had some outstanding performances by our relay teams, as well as several impressive individual performances.

Results & top performers were as follows:

Long Jump: Victoria Baltierra, 6th (12’7”), Shay Baker, 1st (14’1/2”); Triple Jump: Kate Gillespie, 7th (23’6”), Shay Baker, 3rd; High Jump: Mackenzie Carter (4th), Victoria Baltierra (6th); Ryli Ruffin, 2nd (4’6”); Pole Vault: Sandra Duarte, 3rd (6’0”), Alana Evans, 4th (6’0”), Brooklyn Doss, 5th (5’6”); Shot Put: Ruby Magnus, 2nd; Discus: Ashlyn Gleghorn (1st), Ruby Magnus (4th); 2400m Run: Reagan Gibbs, 3rd (10:56) 4x100m Relay: Glentz, Townsend,Taylor, Anderson (5th), Chapman, Elliot, Palacio, Baker (2nd); 800m Run: Vanessa Rodriguez (3:03), Ryli Ruffin, 2nd (2:57), Kate Gillespie (3:08); 100m Hurdles: Victoria Baltierra-1st (18.47) Sandra Duarte-1st, Mackenzie Carter-1st (20.03) Ella Canfield, 1st 100m Dash: Ruby Magnus, 14.97, K’Lee Anders, 1st (13.5)4x200m Relay: McMillan, Gillespie, Taylor, Anderson (5th), Chapman, Gibbs, Palacio, Duarte (1st); 400m Dash: Magnus, Herrington (79.0) Shay Baker, 1st (70.9); 300m Hurdles: Baltierra, Carter - 1st (56.84) ; 200m Dash: Sloan Townsend (32.66), Kylar Elliot (30.7), K’Lee Anders (31.11); 1600m Run: Raegan Glentz, 3rd (7:36), Ella Canfield (7:00); 4x400m Relay: Carter, Gleghorn, Baltierra, Anderson (2nd), Duarte, Ruffin, Palacio, Baker (1st)

Other competitiors who represented our Mason Cowgirls track teams well were as follows: Natalia Zapata, Alexis Hernandez, Jill Donop, Haley Reams, Aselynn Montellano, Veronica Olvera, Ashley Garcia, Viviana Montellano, Daphne Kast, Jenna Johnson, Julie Drazan, & Marisela Palacio. Congrats to all of these girls. Keep up the hard work.
