Mason ISD is Accepting Gifted and Talented Program Nominations

Mason ISD provides many educational programs to meet the needs of our students. One of the programs offered is the Gifted and Talented Program, which has been planned for young, able learners. Listed below are a few well-known characteristics of children who may benefit from the program. Please review these characteristics to see if they describe your child. Think of these behaviors in comparison to other children of the same age.

Likes to read; reads frequently

Possesses an advanced vocabulary

Inquisitive, ask unusual questions

Learns easily

Collects things; organizes

Understands advanced math concepts

Has original, inventive ideas

Is playful and/or dramatic

Is independent

Is mentally advanced for his/her age

Is interested in adult issues

If you are interested in having your child nominated for the screening and identification process for the Gifted and Talented Program, please contact the office for a nomination form. Students must currently be in Kindergarten – 11th Grades. Completed forms are due to the office by 3:30 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014.
