Student Council Officers Honor Mrs. Gay Nesloney
Wednesday, March 19, 2014 • Posted March 19, 2014

A very special assembly was held at Mason High School on Monday morning in honor of Gay Nesloney. Mrs. Nesloney announced her retirement earlier this year, and the high school student council honored her with a surprise program recognizing her 36 years of dedicated service to the students of Mason High School and UIL academics.

The program began with a pictorial slide show of Mrs. Nesloney’s teaching career at MHS. Narrator Traci Jordan, student council vice president, told of Mrs. Nesloney’s many accomplishments and the contributions she has made to her students and the UIL academic program. Coby Velez, student council president, then presented her with a plaque in honor of her 36 years at MHS.

One final surprise was a podium designed and built by high school principal, Chris Habecker. It was engraved in honor of Mrs. Nesloney. Student Council sponsor, Marta Boies, made the presentation along with the remaining student council officers and Mr. Habecker. The podium is engraved with the following: “In honor of Gay Nesloney for 36 years of dedicated service to the students of Mason High School and UIL academics.”
