The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, March 11th, for its regular weekly meeting. There were 35 members and three visitors in attendance. .
Lion John Olsen, pictured, was responsible for the program and he gave a brief history of the first settlers and the communities they started in the Mason area.
John had researched the Texas Historical Commission website and the Mason County Historical Book to get his information. John's program was very interesting.
Don't forget the Hamburger Lunch scheduled for March 28th.
The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, March 18th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Mark Hurta and the program will be his experience as a photographer on a cruise ship.
The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
