Young Life Happenings

Mason Young Life held it’s 2nd annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament this past Saturday, March 22nd. The winning team was “Mason Legends” with Michael McLeod, John Keller, Bruce Williams, and Chance Stockbridge. There were 8 teams total, and Mason Young Life would like to thank all who participated and sponsored this event. We raised nearly $3,000.00 and every penny goes toward sending our high school kids to a Christian summer camp, where they will hear about and experience the love of Jesus. Special thanks to Art Methodist Women, Citizens Insurance, Country Home Health, Dr. Glenn A. Ruthven General Dentistry, Erna Frac, Mason Bank, and River of Life Church for sponsoring this event.

Young Life has now been in Mason for two years, we continue to pursue high school students so that we can introduce them to Jesus, and we continue to receive amazing support from our community. Here are two exciting activities coming up that we want you to be aware of as parents of teenagers and supporters of what God is doing through the ministry.

First, we are hosting a “Seniors Only Camp Out” on April 4-6. Every senior enrolled in Mason High School is invited. We hope it is a chance to reflect and think about important things and what comes next as well as a chance to escape their busy schedules and relax. If you have a senior who may be interested, we are asking them to sign up by April 2nd, and pay $30.00 to help pay for food and transportation. We will be camping at a ranch near Cherokee, TX.

Next, Young Life is partnering with some of our local churches to take high school kids on a Mission Trip to Dallas, TX on May 2-3. The focus of this trip is to feed and serve the homeless in Dallas. The purpose is to get our kids out of their comfort zones, let them experience what it looks like to share Jesus with someone in need, and help them grow spiritually. The cost per person is still TBD, but we are working to keep it as low as possible.

If you have any questions, would like to get involved, or would like to support this ministry financially, please contact J. W. Harle at 214-957-7913 or Thank you all for your prayers and support.
