Free Child Safety Seat Check-Up Event on April 13th
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 • Posted April 9, 2014

Please join us on April 13, Palm Sunday, for a fun time on the Mason County Courthouse lawn!

Come enjoy a hamburger luncheon benefitting the Child Welfare Board ($6: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.) and have your kids hunt Easter Eggs and take a picture with the Easter Bunny!

While you’re there, let the Certified Passenger Safety Technicians from Texans in Motion (pictured here- led by Leslie Stark, pictured first) check to make sure your child’s safety seat is the correct one and let them teach you how to properly install it. We will be on the South side of the Courthouse from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. We even have Spanish speaking help available. While supplies last your child safety seat may even be replaced if there is a problem with it. Three out of four seats are improperly installed– take advantage of this FREE service to make sure yours isn’t one of them. A few minutes of your time could save your child’s life! This program is sponsored by Texans In Motion (a project by TxDOT and Scott & White Injury Prevention Program), Mason County AgriLife Extension Service, Alpha Beta Psi Service Organization, and Ann Scarth, Wesley Nurse Ministries.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful support for this program and I hope we have a good crowd to take advantage of it. You do not have to be a resident of Mason County to participate- friends from surrounding areas are welcomed!
