Mr. & Mrs. Virdell Celebrate 70th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor Virdell, Sr., of Llano, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2014. Close friends and family joined them at their home in Llano to congratulate them on this momentous occasion.

Taylor and Annelle (Lehmberg) were married at First United Methodist Church in Austin, while Taylor was serving as an aerial engineer in the United States Air Force during World War II and Annelle was working at Bergstrom Field in Austin.

Their first home was Marfa, Texas, but they also lived in Rantoul, Illinois, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the war. Since that time, they have made their home in Llano.

Taylor, now retired, was owner of Virdell Drilling, Inc. of Llano and Fredericksburg. Annelle worked in the company as office manager and secretary for many years.

The Virdells have three children: Frosty and Vicki Miller of Pontotoc; Walter and Coni Milliorn of Valley Spring; and, Taylor and Brenda Virdell of Fredericksburg. Seven grandchildren have blessed their lives: Faron Miller, Matt and Fara Underwood, Brice and Mechelle Milliorn, Garrison and Micah Goebel, Justin and Kiley Bounds, Caleb Virdell, and Ty and Ainsley Virdell. Nine great grandchildren continue to be a delight: Nathan, Austin and Kinley Miller, Maci and Mitchell Underwood, Alexis and Zander Milliorn; and, Jaxon and Beau Taylor Bounds.
