FAAHC Artists Honored to Judge State VASE
Wednesday, April 16, 2014 • Posted April 18, 2014

Three FAAHC artists still had jolly faces after a LONG day judging State VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) on April 4th. The event was held at the high school in Bryan, Texas. On Saturday, April 5th, the teachers and students arrived to view the show and enjoy the medal presentations.

Nan Loeffler and Marcy Holmes-Wheeler judged 3D work and Dayna Fowler Haines judged 2D drawing and painting.

Some 24,000 works participate on the regional level, narrowing down to approximately 2,000 for state. Out of those works, the judges select about 150 to receive gold seals. It is an arduous process, but extremely rewarding … and the work is OUTSTANDING!!

VASE is the largest collection of student art work in the nation and one of the largest in the world. We are proud to be from Texas and a part of our growing arts education and exhibition.
