Jane Lakin is the newest volunteer at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. Jane shelves books and materials on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Jane has loved libraries since she was a young girl. One reason she enjoys working here now is that in high school she worked in a library after school. She also likes “getting out of the house and seeing people.” Jane also volunteers at the Mason Food Bank and says that she enjoys helping people. When she isn’t volunteering, she stays busy taking exercise classes at the River of Life Church on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and working crossword puzzles. She and her husband Randy came to live in Mason in 1999. They were truckers “from border to border” until 2007 when they both retired. The library staff is happy to have Jane as one of their invaluable volunteers.
