The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, April 29th, for its regular weekly meeting. There were 30 members and five visitors in attendance.

Lion Chad Schmidt was responsible for the program and introduced Margaret Persky who spoke about the first years of the Steady Steps Children's Weekday Ministry.

Three of Margaret's first students, Lydia Bierschwale, Kelly Kothmann and Ethan McKinney were present and told some interesting stories that they remembered from Steady Steps. Mrs. Persky was the first Director of Steady Steps and held that position for nine years.

Steady Steps will celebrate their 15 year anniversary on May 18th at the First United Methodist Church. The ex-students, along with Mrs. Persky, will conduct the worship service. Everyone is invited to attend.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, May 6th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
