With the fading flowers, the ripening seed pods and 17 submissions, the very first Mason County White Bluebonnet Hunt has successfully concluded. What started out as a seed of an idea blossomed into a fun little contest enjoyed by locals and visitors, becoming an unexpected big hit! Those entering the contest were asked to submit an image along with date, time and location found and to also submit a short statement about something they love about Mason County. Local businesses provided a fine array of prizes and even increased the prize pool based on the huge popularity of the hunt. There is already discussion of doing this again next spring and possible creating some other contests for other times of the year. Let the Chamber of Commerce know if you have ideas or would like to help.

Many thanks to local business sponsors Llano River Region Adventures, Painted Tree Studio, The Thing Is Boutique, Santos Taqueria, Sandstone Cellars, Compass Rose Cellars, Hye Texas Wine Tours, Texas Back Country Hangouts Guidebook, The Imidido Project and the Mason County Chamber of Commerce.

Congratulations and thank you to all of the visitors and residents who took the time to join in the fun, submit some beautiful images and to write some lovely sentiments about this amazing place called Mason County.

Following are the contest winners and what they had to say about Mason County. While not all of the wonderful images can fit into the newspaper, they can all be seen by visiting the Mason County Chamber of Commerce FaceBook site.
