Peter's Prairie School Dedication
Wednesday, May 21, 2014 • Posted May 22, 2014

Peter’s Prairie School Historical Marker Dedication is this Saturday, May 24th,, at 10 am at Camp Air (just south of the Hwy 87 and FM 1222 intersection).

Everyone is welcome to come out and join us for the presentation, which is to honor the former students and their old school. Come see the renovated historic three room schoolhouse and memorabilia on display. Even though the building is not nearly as primitive as it was for them, you can still get the feel of what it was like for rural school students in the early part of the 20th century.

We hope to have as many of the students who attended this school before the consolidation in June 1946 to do the honors and unveil the marker. After a brief ceremony in the schoolyard, we will move inside for refreshments and sharing of stories (both first-hand and/or passed down) from the old school days.

We hope to see you on Saturday!
