Art Camp at the Painted Tree Studio attracted kids from Brady, Junction, Austin, Houston, and the Dallas area….and lots of our local young artists from Mason. A lot of these kids come to Mason for one or two weeks for a day filled with Tennis Camp in the morning and Art Camp in the afternoon. In between, around and after they squeeze in time at the pool, library reading, Library Magic Shows and the Dairy Queen.

The theme this year at Art Camp was on JOY with the art element of balance. The younger class defined their JOY…what color it was and how was it symbolized in their life. Then the created a JOY MONUMONT to take home. The older kids 8-13 also defined their JOY and then created floating AIR SCULPTURES (which can be hung from a tree), Grapevine sculptures/Color Sprinklers, Butterfly Column and a Painted Tree.

Special thanks to the community who helped with donations: Hinckleys Country Store, Mason Feed Store, Mason Recycling, Randy for the wood, and assistance from Eric Youman, Tony Plutino and Chris Keating.

Week two of Art Camp will start Monday. PAINTING with the theme of HOPE, JOY & ASPIRATIONS, art element of Balance. There are still 2 spots remaining in 3 of the classes. Call to put your child’s name on the list. 325-805-1176
