Spanish to English Classes Begin for the Summer Semester
Wednesday, June 25, 2014 • Posted June 25, 2014

For over a year now the Friends of the Library began partnering with the Mason Library to offer Spanish-to-English classes for adults who want to learn to speak English. Since then over 35 Spanish-speaking adults and 25 volunteers have participated in this program. This is remarkable for a community the size of Mason.

Classes are free, groups are small and students can progress at their own rate. Babysitting is also provided at no cost. Students can join the class at any time.

Classes will begin on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. They are held in the Stribling Room of the Mason Library. The summer semester is 6 weeks long with no class during the week of 4th of July.

Please talk with anyone you know who might be interested in learning English as “word of mouth” has been the most effective way of letting people know about the classes.

Anyone wanting to participate as a student or a volunteer is encouraged to come. Call Nanci Gibbons at 210-240-4299 or email her at ngibbons@bcfs.net if you have questions or want to help.
