The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, July 1st, for its regular monthly business meeting. There were 31 members and no visitors in attendance.

"Boss" Lion Ken Cordero was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.

The club is planning on some members going to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to tour the facilities and visit with the campers. This will be on July 18th.

Also, the Zone 2 Cabinet meeting will be July 26 in Mason at the Richard P. Eckert Civic Center. District Governor, John Gammill and his wife, Lion Angela Gammill, are in Toronto, Canada, for the International Lions Convention this week. We wish them a safe and enjoyable trip and experience.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, July 8th, at noon at Nacho's Cafe. The program chairman will be Chuck Bearden and teh program will be Mario Arteaga with the Senior Citizen's Nutrition Program.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
